The Role

• Leadership: Mentor and lead our data platform team, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge needed for success.
• Stakeholder Management: Communicate clearly and directly to manage stakeholder expectations and ensure adherence to business processes.
• Strategic Development: Collaborate with the leadership team to build efficient, scalable, and maintainable systems for the future.
• Data Pipelines: Maintain and evolve data pipelines while adhering to contemporary best practices (Python, Spark, AWS suite).
• Data Warehouse Ownership: Take technical ownership from infrastructure to architecture and data modeling (Redshift, MySQL, Looker).
• Data Lakes: Ensure the operation of healthy data lakes with uncompromised data integrity, cost management, and security.
• BI and Analytics Support: Enable the BI function with the necessary data layers and services for effective operations.
• Data Science and ML Collaboration: Work with Product and BI teams on processes involving advanced data concepts.
• Commercial Mindset: Advocate for solutions that meet contemporary market standards, balancing cost, scalability, and longevity.

You

• Experience: Significant experience in the data space with a large company and a mature data platform, including BI, analytics, and data warehouses/lakes/marts.
• Pipeline Development: Proven experience in designing and implementing data pipelines.
• Data Modeling Expertise: Skilled in designing and owning data models and semantic layers.
• Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
• Commercial Acumen: A strong commercial mindset to drive effective solutions.
• Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Python, SQL, Spark, AWS suite, Terraform, GitHub, Redshift, MySQL, and data lake formats (e.g., Hudi).
